DIGEST Participates in the International ESReDA DMAD Project Group Meeting at the University of Deusto
Researchers from DIGEST participated in the technical meeting and research seminar of the Digital Maintenance and Asset Digitalization (DMAD) Project Group of the European Safety, Reliability & Data Association (ESReDA), held at the University of Deusto (Bilbao, Spain) in collaboration with the European Skills4EII project. The event brought together leading researchers, industry representatives, and international experts to discuss the challenges and opportunities of Digital Asset Management in the context of Industry 5.0.
Throughout the meeting, participants explored the new skills required for the digital transformation of industry and presented several European research initiatives focused on artificial intelligence, predictive maintenance, digital twins, simulation, and advanced decision-support systems. The technical programme showcased innovative solutions based on discrete-event simulation, semantic artificial intelligence, optimization algorithms, and predictive diagnostics for industrial assets.
DIGEST actively contributed to the technical discussions of the DMAD Project Group, helping to shape future research directions in Digital Asset Management, Digital Twins, intelligent maintenance, and industrial digitalization. The meeting also featured a preview of the IFAC AMEST–IMS 2027 Joint Workshops, which will be hosted in Seville, Spain, and are expected to become one of the leading international events in advanced maintenance engineering and smart manufacturing systems.
The event concluded with a roundtable discussion highlighting the importance of strengthening collaboration between universities, research centres, and industry to accelerate the adoption of digital technologies and prepare the workforce for the transition towards Industry 5.0, where technological innovation and human expertise evolve together.
