Reskilling Asset Management in the 5.0 Era; Strategic, Tactic and Operative Implications Seminar

📅 June 03th, 2026
📍 University of Deusto, Bilbao, Spain

On June 3rd, we had the pleasure of attending the latest meeting of the DMAD group at the University of Deusto, held in conjunction with the SKILLS4EII project.

This research seminar focused on the strategic, tactical, and operational implications of reskilling asset management for Industry 5.0. We’explored how skills demands are evolving in energy-intensive industries, optimizing spare parts with simulation and genetic algorithms, and using correlated noise for equipment diagnosis. We brought together researchers and industry experts to explore predictive maintenance, intelligent optimization systems, and the new skills needed for the next generation of industrial operations. In the course of the day, we heard from partners across Europe, including Sidenor, ESTIA, Unesid, University of Granada, University of Seville, and Sant’Anna. We also took a moment to have an open, round table discussion and to preview the upcoming IFAC AMEST-IMS 2027 workshops in Seville.

A big thank you to everyone who attended, presented, and contributed to the conversations throughout the day. And special thanks to Aitor Goti for organizing and hosting such a successful event. We look forward to continuing these discussions in future DMAD and SKILLS4EII activities!
